π WELCOME BACK! π
We are excited to be starting the 2026-27 training year and we will be starting off strong on September 9th for a welcome back barbecue! ππ
π Cadets, bring your parents/guardians as we will be taking this opportunity to fill out some important paperwork required at the start of each year. Parents/guardians are welcome to stay for the barbecue as well!
πDo you have a friend who may be interested in joining? Please bring them along! This is a great opportunity to check the program out and talk to cadets or officers about the sea cadet program! βοΈ

Part 2 of our year end trip on June 6-7: HMCS Haida βοΈ
On the second day of our trip, 112 Howe cadets had the opportunity to learn from HMCS Haida guides, and wowed them with their historical knowledge about Canada’s naval history. π
Following the lesson, cadets explored the ship and spoke to additional crew members about different parts of the ship. π³οΈ
What a great way to close out the 2026-27 training year! We can’t wait to be back!

ποΈ On July 31st, @cadets.blackdown extended an invitation for members of the Navy League, Army Cadet League and Air Cadet League to the CTC for “League Day” and to attend the weekly battalion and Expedition Team Member grad parade.
π On arrival, representatives from the three leagues received a warm welcome from the Blackdown Command Team, Officers and Senior Staff Cadets. Some members were invited to participate in inspecting the parade, getting an opportunity to chat with course cadets from the different courses offered at CTC Blackdown.
πΊπ₯πΌ The Military and Pipe Band impressed all spectators and those on parade with their impressive collection of music, including some fun songs that had everyone dancing along. Throughout the parade, everyone was impressed with the outstanding drill and deportment of the cadets, and it was clear to see that things are running like a well oiled machine.
During the speeches and presentations portion of the parade, Cadet RSM CWO Smintich provided advice and goals to the course and staff cadets on parade, followed by arranging a fly by of an air cadet Bellanca Scout aircraft. βοΈ
Following the parade, League Day participants were invited to a reception in the All Ranks Mess, where a few additional speeches were made and we observed a few promotions.
Overall, League Day was an incredible opportunity to witness the training being offered at CTC Blackdown, and to network with officers, staff cadets and other League representatives.
Thank you for the invitation, CTC Blackdown! We look forward to the next one. π

Happy 100th Birthday to the @royalcanadianlegion! π₯³
112 Howe and the cadet program in Canada has been fortunate to have the support and partnership of the Royal Canadian Legion for decades. Legion Members offer such value to the communities they serve, veterans, their families, cadets and Canada overall. π¨π¦
We are taking the time today to reflect on the powerful organization that is the Royal Canadian Legion, the relationships that 112 Howe has with our local Legion Branches and how we can continue to work together to serve our community and give back to the Legion in the years to come.
Thank you for all that you do β€οΈπ¨π¦
